CCTV Distributor Videcon has launched a new range of HD-SDI CCTV equipment. It offers full 1080p High Definition over standard coaxial cable. At launch the range includes 6 cameras and 4 DVRs.
The cameras include four fixed domes (two internal and two external), one external body camera with infra red, and a PTZ dome with accompanying keyboard and joystick. The choice of DVRs includes three full HD-SDI recorders, and a hybrid option for combining analogue with HD-SDI.
Further cameras are already in the pipeline to be launched throughout the year.
Sales Director Andy Croston comments:”At Videcon we like to help our customers tap in to great opportunities in the market, and HD-SDI is one they can’t afford to ignore. There’s clearly a demand for the picture quality offered by megapixel cameras, but previously this has been expensive and complicated. Now, this can be achieved easily and cost-effectively over standard coaxial cable through our HD-SDI range.
Not all HD-SDI installations will be the same, so we’ve worked hard to develop a product range to give our customers all the options they need. Whether they want to install a full HD-SDI system, or a hybrid system combining HD-SDI with analogue, we now have the equipment to suit.
We’ve noticed that a lot of our competitors have HD-SDI offerings out there that look nothing like their analogue range. We think they’re missing something here – our cameras have the same housing and appearance as our existing analogue cameras so they will blend in as part of a hybrid installation. It’s a small detail, but we know that these things are important to end users.”
