Veracity, the leader in transmission and storage solutions for video surveillance, has seen sales growth of 51 per cent in the US and more than 20 per cent in the UK in 2011, as the security market innovator reaped the rewards of heavy investment in new products, premises, infrastructure and people throughout last year.

During 2011, the surveillance product manufacturer took on two new US staff and six new UK-based staff following a move early in 2011 into a new prestigious 7,200 square foot UK headquarters on the Prestwick International Aerospace Park, adjacent to Prestwick Airport in Scotland.

COLDSTORE, Veracity’s innovative video surveillance storage solution, picked up no less than four key security industry awards in 2011:

1.            Security Innovation of the Year 2011 at the Security Excellence Awards. The judges of this globally-recognised award ruled that COLDSTORE was ‘ground-breaking in terms of design and how it meets a specific customer needs, representing a real step-change in the way security surveillance data is stored and managed.’

2.            Detektor International ‘Innovative Achievement’ award. The judges of this award concluded that COLDSTORE used ‘an ingenious method of writing to disks means that no data are lost if a disk fails, yet no rebuilds are required.’

3.            Frost & Sullivan ‘2010 European Digital Video Surveillance Storage System Technology Innovation Award’ from the major industry analyst house, and

4.            The US magazine – Security Sales and Integration ‘2011’s Top 30 Technology Innovations’ announced in December 2011.

Such is the success of COLDSTORE that within one year it has been deployed in city centre schemes, police systems, schools, universities, temple complexes, stadiums and casinos on both sides of the Atlantic.

COLDSTORE users have benefitted from highly reliable video surveillance storage, coupled with a reduction in their energy bills of up to 75 per cent when compared to equivalent capacity storage systems. Veracity was also able to complete integration work with more leading Video Management Systems partner before year end as demand for the product grew.

Veracity’s two new video surveillance transmission innovations of 2011, OUTREACH MAX XT™ and HIGHWIRE Powerstar™, were both very well received by the market.

The OUTREACH MAX XT Ethernet and PoE extender was unveiled at last year’s IFSEC in response to growing customer demand for a device which makes it simple to site external cameras and wireless hotspots without being restricted by the 100m (328 foot) limit from standard Ethernet cables.

OUTREACH MAX XT offers an IP66-rated enclosure. Its rugged and slim-line construction delivers combined Ethernet and PoE power for externally located IP cameras using up to 60 watts. Several OUTREACH MAX XT’s can be used to deliver Ethernet and PoE up to 700 metres.

Veracity’s new HIGHWIRE Powerstar delivers up to Class 4 PoE over Coax providing maximum of 25 watts to IP cameras with no need for local power wiring. It can also deliver data and PoE over Coax to distances of up 500 metres depending on the quality on the coaxial cabling used.   Connecting HIGHWIRE Powerstar units back-to-back can allow the network signal to be repeated without local power, extending Ethernet provision to up to four kilometres (2.5 miles).

The firm added warehousing and logistics capabilities via its new larger operations in Scotland and New Jersey USA.  It also increased its partner-base. It is set to announce new European distributor appointments and major OEM agreements, all in the first half of 2012.

Alastair McLeod, managing director and founder of Veracity UK Limited added:

“Such is the demand for our IP transmission products as well as our innovative and award winning storage solution COLDSTORE that we predict accelerated growth in 2012 now that much of the hard work of expanding our logistics and sales capability has been completed.  Right now we are we are drawing up plans for selecting new distribution partners in Europe and pushing for further expansion in the US.”
