Thinking Space installs control room furniture for Council’s CCTV control room

New furniture for the CCTV Control Room for Bath & NE Somerset Council

Thinking Space Systems have recently installed new control room furniture for the CCTV Control Room for Bath & NE Somerset Council, giving its operators an improved working environment.

The project involved the relocation of the existing control room and Thinking Space was successful in the design, manufacture and installation of a bespoke three operator fully automated console desk.

In addition to providing automated height adjustment for each operator position, the desk is fitted with removable vented service panels to the rear of the console, allowing access to cable management and equipment storage void.

The control room also required an Evolution Media Wall; this was designed and manufactured by Thinking Space to give sound ergonomic viewing of two rows of six forty two inch monitors from the desk. As with all Evolution Media Walls, cable management is fully integrated and the screens are tiltable.

Other furniture provided by Thinking Space to complete the control room relocation were storage units and cupboards, an engineer’s desk and 24/7 control room chairs.

As Thinking Space is also the UK distributor for Novus monitor arms and desk accessories, these were supplied and fitted to the console to allow for the mounting of multiple monitors at each workstation.

Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Control Room Manager, Tim Campbell, commented “Our new control room now looks modern and professional. Our operators are already feeling the benefits with the ergonomically designed furniture and the clever use of space created by Thinking Space’s design.

“As each operator position has individual height adjustment, we are able to accommodate wheelchair users. Throughout the project, from the initial design proposals to installation and handover, Thinking Space has provided a professional service and we are very pleased with the final result.”
