The £106,000 scheme will cover the industrial estate in Mollison Avenue, the largest in north London and was launched following discussions between the council, business park representatives and members for the Chamber of Commerce. The meeting heard that maintaining high levels of security on the site is considered crucial to attract new businesses to the area and retaining existing firms on the site.
Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Wellbeing and Public Health, Cllr Christine Hamilton, said: “Low crime rates benefit everyone and this addition to our CCTV network sends out a strong message that Enfield is open to business – but not to crooks.
“Brimsdown Business Park is a major contributor to our borough and provides many jobs and economic benefits, making it a vital tool in our efforts to regenerate and develop the borough as a whole.
“Enfield Council is absolutely committed to supporting companies in this borough and the expansion of CCTV in this manner is an excellent demonstration of how the council can deliver schemes which support businesses and encourage new firms to come into the borough, while encouraging our existing ones to stay.”
