Pecan CCTV has appointed Melanie Kay as their new Northern Area Sales Manager. Originally from Stalybridge but now living in Oldham, Melanie started her CCTV career in internal sales before moving into her preferred role of external sales. Over the years she has gained a wealth of invaluable product knowledge and experience working for some of the industry’s major players.
Melanie, who describes herself as a ‘people person’, told us “When I visited the company for the first time the atmosphere in the office was very welcoming with friendly banter and a good working environment. I was also excited by the innovative new products which Pecan are due to be launching.”
“Having ‘been there and done that’ I recognise just how important it is for the external sales team to have good working relationships with the staff in the office. When you are out on the road you need to have people you can rely on to get things done. I really like the team and it’s great to be part of a company where everyone works together to ensure we all do everything we can to give our customers the best possible service.”
“Working in external sales is a lot harder than people think. You are own your own for a lot if the time and it certainly isn’t a nine to five job. But I really enjoy being out and about, running my own diary and having the chance to be more involved with customers by meeting them face-to-face. Listening to what customers want is really important and being able to offer them the support and expertise to develop a specific solution is very rewarding.”
“I was attracted to join Pecan because the company’s road map is good and it is a well established brand with reliable products that has continued to invest in expanding its business. My ambition is to progress within the company and as Pecan continues to grow and expand I aim to grow with them and eventually have my own sales team”.
