In response to a surge in businesses requesting more information on data security, South Yorkshire data destruction and recycling experts S2S is responding to these distress calls with a Mayday of its own by hosting a Data Security Information Day on Tuesday 12 May at its Rotherham headquarters. You might not even know you are committing data protection offences; the S2S data ‘amnesty’ will put you right, explain the correct way to handle data, and help bring your business in line with current legislation on data.

The data destruction demonstration will consist of a range of informative presentations from S2S and complemented by a series of seminars from some of the firm’s fellow partners and suppliers, including Onyx, Tabernus, Scaitec Security and Russell Richardson, culminating in a guided tour of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling solutions company’s site and facilities.

“Our attendance at recent industry events has made it clear there is a real need out there for many businesses who need to understand and gets to grips with the issues surrounding data security,” said Alan Dukinfield, Managing Director for S2S. “While we will be getting the message out there on stand D210 at Info Security 2015 at Olympia in June, a dedicated Data Security Information Day made a lot of sense.”

The Information Day will be suitable for anyone wanting to learn more about data protection, data erasure, secure IT asset management and confidential document disposal and recycling. The event is also ideal for people interested in gaining or improving their ISO 27001 accreditation, or concerned about having a knowledge gap on the subject that could be solved with a one day masterclass.

Asset recovery by S2S, Data storage/Disaster Recovery by Onyx, Data Erasure by Tabernus, Document Solutions by Russell Richardson and Physical Security by Scaitec Security have already been confirmed.

Breaks are planned for refreshments and networking opportunities for those present and the day will culminate with the chance to win an iPad.

Places on the information day will be limited and pre-booking is essential. For more information see: Contact S2S on 01709 878878 for further information or to reserve a place, alternatively email
