Optical technology specialists Tamron showcased a range of new innovative solutions at IFSEC 2013, held last month at Birmingham’s NEC.

New Double Vari-Focal Concept

For D/N box type cameras Tamron offers just 2 lenses which cover all focal lengths from wide to tele with 3-Mega-Pixel resolution. The new IR-corrected Mega-Pixel lens series from Tamron features a focal length range of 2.8 to 50mm in just two lenses covering 124.3° to 6.7° horizontal field of view on 1/2.7“ sensors. A new optical design uses glass mold aspherical lens elements and a special optical coating that ensures 3MP even under IR light and a clear image.

O.E.M Support Now from Europe

In order to comply with the tendency of the surveillance market and its growing demand for dome cameras, Tamron sells and supports OEM solutions from Europe. The new Double Vari-focal solution has been applied also here with the offer of 2 zoom lens types which cover 3-9mm and 9-22mm. On the other hand a new unique and compact 30x zoom lens was presented which is able to maintain Full HD resolution over the complete focal range of 4.3-129mm.

New 3 Mega-pixel Fixed-focal Lens for ITS

In recent years ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) has been receiving attention world-wide, with rising demand for high sensitivity and high resolution, which result in larger imager size. In order to meet market requirements, Tamron is announcing the 1/1.8” 35mm lens which is suitable for traffic applications with faster F/no. and higher resolution. This lens will contribute especially for license plate recognition or face recognition for ITS applications.
