Genie’s new HD-SDI (High Definition Serial Digital Interface) cameras in 1.3 megapixel (720p) or 2.1 megapixel (1080p) resolutions deliver all the benefits of high definition broadcast style video over coax in 16:9 wide screen format. The range consists of bodied cameras (HDC131 & HDC201), bullet style IR cameras (HDB131IR & HDB201IR), internal mini domes (HDMDF202), external vandal resistant dome cameras (HDVDF202, HDVD131IR & HDVD201IR) as well as 4 and 8 channel HD-SDI digital video recorders (HDDVR4 & HDDVR8).
HD-SDI enables the transmission of uncompressed digital video which is of greater quality than IP but uses the same installation method as analogue coaxial cable. One of the main benefits of HD-SDI technology is that there is zero loss of image data and zero latency when viewing images. Other features of the new Genie HD-SDI camera range include digital noise reduction, mechanical IR cut-filter, 20 privacy zones, Alarm in/out and RS-485 support.
Binit Shah, Genie’s EMEA Sales & Marketing Manager says “Our new HD-SDI cameras offer HD resolutions of 720p or 1080p over coax. Utilising standard BNC connectors and RG59 cable, the range allows true high definition pictures to be transmitted and recorded using existing legacy cabling in conjunction with either the 4 or 8 Channel Genie HD-SDI DVR. Also available in our range is a hybrid PC based DVR range (Analogue/HD-SDI) allowing standard analogue images to be recorded alongside HD-SDI cameras. One of the main benefits of HD-SDI technology is that there is zero loss of image data and zero latency when viewing images.”
