Leading surveillance solutions provider CBC (Europe) supplied its popular C-AllView cameras for an appearance at this September’s Preston Guild celebration in Lancashire. The event is held only once every 20 years and dates back to 1179. The 2012 Preston Guild was the first of the 21st century, as well as the first since Preston was granted city status in 2002.
As part of this year’s historic celebrations, CBC was invited by European security equipment distributor QED to supply its C-AllView cameras for a prestigious appearance on QED’s float in the Trades procession around the city – one of four major processions that form the bedrock of the Guild programme.
Steve Dunning, CBC’s National Projects & Business Development Manager, explains that CBC is a key supplier of surveillance systems to Preston-based QED, including cameras, recording equipment, illumination products and IP-based network components: “It was an honour to accept QED’s invitation and for our C-AllView cameras to take part in the 5km Trades procession. The Guild processions typically attract between 200,000 and 300,000 spectators, as part of this historic celebration dating back to Henry II’s medieval granting of Preston’s first royal charter.”
Mark Wilson, QED’s Marketing Manager, adds that CBC’s contribution towards the float and participation in the event helped to make the firm’s involvement a great success on the day. “We were delighted CBC was able to provide its C-AllView cameras, since they are an important part of our equipment range. We offer a full range of quality products including a variety of other Ganz equipment from CBC as part of our strategy to ensure customer satisfaction. Our customer focused and empathetic approach to service is one of the reasons why our European distribution operation has grown steadily since 1997.”
The C-AllView high-speed PTZ is designed for use in harsh and challenging environments. With up to 36x optical zoom capability, the camera’s optically flat (toughened and replaceable) distortion-free glass provides clear, bright images with a built-in wiper and remotely operated wash/optional wiper. Multi-protocol flexibility ensures compatibility with most popular telemetry systems.
