Simon Adcock, vice chairman of the BSIA’s CCTV section, talks exclusively to SecurityNewsDesk TV from the Safe Newcastle Global MSC Security Seminar in Newcastle.
He is concerned that proposed regulation of the CCTV industry, currently making its way through Parliament, should be applied to the private sector as well as the public sector which, as he pointed out, is already compliant with the proposed regulations. The BSIA, he explained, has supported that position in its feedback to government.
He goes on to talk about his concerns that public support for CCTV is more fragile than it appears and that regulation is needed to maintain that support.
The BSIA also supports a universal registration scheme for all CCTV cameras. Why does this trade association actually support more regulation for the industry?
