Successful Scunthorpe based steel security door, grille and cage manufacturer, has appointed Jim Connell as CEO. This is part of a re-structure of the Senior Management Team that sees Company founder Tim Strawson move to the position of Chairman and other Directors reporting directly to Jim Connell.
The new structure is in response to the Company’s rapid growth and will strengthen the leadership team to build on the success of recent years. As Chairman of the Board, Tim Strawson who started the Company in 1991, will focus on critical areas of new business and product development.
Jim Connell, is a Chartered Accountant by profession and brings a wealth of business experience to Bradbury’s management team. He was also instrumental in the early development of Bradbury Security and recently re-joined the Group as Managing Director of Scottish subsidiary Newton Security Doors. Having successfully overseen Newton’s move to new premises, Connell hands over the running of the Irvine factory to Operations Director Alex Gilmour.
Tim Strawson explains “I am looking forward to welcoming Jim to the Scunthorpe site. He is a valuable addition to Bradbury’s Board of Directors and has an excellent knowledge of our business and the security sector. The new management structure enables us to capitalise on recent successes and keep the momentum for future growth”.
These are exciting times for Bradbury which expanded production of doors, grilles and cages in 2013 and now employs over 180 people across the Group. The business was recently recognised by the London Stock Exchange as one of Britain’s 1000 Most Inspiring Companies, listed as one of Yorkshire’s Fastest Growing Companies and nominated for the North Lincolnshire’s Business Growth Award.
