The diamond jubilee isn’t the only cause for celebration this month at Gloucestershire-based Allcooper, as it toasts 25 years of providing fire and security solutions to customers throughout the UK and Europe.
To mark this milestone, the company will be engaging in a raft of activity including special promotions for new and existing customers, a family fun day for staff and their relatives, and various charitable events.
It is a particularly poignant occasion for father and son team Gary and Gerard Cooper, who established Allcooper as a small independent security supplier, back in June 1987. Their idea was to provide ultra-reliable systems and a highly personal service, which they went about doing, using just one van and the family home as an office.
Despite having limited resources, their personal and innovative approach quickly proved to be a hit, and as demand for their services grew, additional family members were brought into the fold. Son to Gary and brother to Gerard, Roman Cooper joined as an apprentice just three months after the company was formed and, still remains at Allcooper as a director.
Commenting on the anniversary, fellow director, Gerard said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have reached this milestone. In the quarter of a century we’ve been trading, we have installed and maintained thousands of systems, and built countless valued relationships with suppliers and customers. I believe this is down to the fact that we still hold dear the values that we founded the business on all those years ago, and want to uphold for the next 25 years!”
Today, with three generations of the Cooper family now working at Allcooper, the 90-strong organisation has evolved into a multi-million pound turnover business, with over 5,000 customers that range from householders to household names. The company has also carved a niche for itself in security consultancy and design for unique and luxury properties.
Despite the current economic climate, investment into the business has continued at a pace, with the installation of a completely new business system running to a six-figure sum, which took place earlier this year.
It is a key strategic accomplishment which will underpin the company’s future success, as Roman explains: “We’ve kicked off our 25th year in business with a monumental shift in working practice – one which, to our knowledge, is cutting-edge for the industry. This is a huge tick on the list of objectives we have set ourselves to achieve significant growth at Allcooper over the next five years.”
He went on to say: “I’m delighted we’ve started this landmark anniversary with such a big success story. For that I have to say a massive thank you to our staff, for their efforts recently and over the last 25 years, and to our customers for their loyalty over that time too.”
